Zumba people should eat and suggest various choices in food items, to keep the energy level while dancing. A zumba instructor should guide a proper diet chart to the students. A daily diet should contain 20% carbohydrates, 15% dairy products, 30% vegetables and fruits, 20% proteins and 5 % sugar intake.

 

With nutritional intake a zumba dancer will be active during practice sessions. He must take and recommend whole grains, carbohydrates, proteins should be of less saturated fat and dairy products should also be fatless. They should also drink plenty of water, to stay hydrated.
Zumba trainer should take recommendations and advice from doctor, for a proper diet chart before handing over it to his students.

Some other roles and responsibilities are:-

  • Selecting best DVDs or CD’s, updating music lists time to time for the practice hours, to develop interest in zumba.
  • To perform on-going assessments of each individual in the room.
  • To employ society members for program if there is a need.
  • To maintain a working budget for whole program, and monitor systems of live dance and play studios.
  • At first they need to instruct fundamental steps to the students and later should train them the difficult steps so that to keep developing there moves slowly in an interesting and curious manner.
  • Need to describe how weight loss and managing stress is good with the help of modern techniques.
  • Must plan some training programs in Zumba to maintain a peaceful and joyful environment, in the room.

Career opportunities for zumba instructors

Zumba is done basically for fun and exercise, but there are people for whom zumba is life, they earn by teaching zumba to others. They are the certified trainer of zumba. For those who have already gone through basic level instructor course.  They can do other advance courses in zumba.
Zumba basically consist of seven types of classes:

 

1) ZUMBA BASIC: This is the basic course, which is compulsory to attend, for every person, who wants to be a zumba instructor. This course will cover basics of teaching zumba, and how to be prepared for fist class of zumba etc. You will also learn basic rhythm steps i.e. meringue, salsa, cumbla, reggaeton. In first class of zumba, these four rhythms must be used and this course will help to put these rhythms jointly in a song.

 

2) ZUMBA START GOLD: This course is meant for beginner instructors, who would like teach zumba to active old adults. Zumba Start Gold is a program for old people, who want to learn zumba. This course includes physiological anatomical and psychosomatic needs for old age group people. It will also include the beginners guide for new healthy lifestyle. Zumba Start Gold instructor training provides methods to teach zumba basic course group and prepare to teach you Zumba Gold classes. Zumba Start Gold provide license i.e. one year basic zumba license.

 

 

3) ZUMBA BASIC 2:- It includes further advance rhythms in belly dance, flamenco, tango, and samba. You will learn advance steps and techniques in this program. Experienced instructors will guide you, how to make good choreography, by sharing there experiences with you. There is one year basic zumba license, which is required for this program.

 

4) ZUMBA GOLD: It is a advance version of Zumba Start Gold program, which is also for old adults. It is a specialty program for experienced instructors. Zumba chair activities are included in Zumba Gold program. It will require a Zumba Gold license. For this program a instructor must have membership of zumba Instructor Network (ZIN)

5) ZUMBA TONING: This is body toning and strength training class, especially design for those who wants to tone there body, burning maximum calories. This program will teach you how to burn maximum calories, while having dance party. It includes moves to tone arms, abs, and thighs. Zumba toning license will be provided, if a student have membership in ZIM.  Fitness certification is also recommended for this workshop.

 

6) AQUA ZUMBA: Aqua Zumba class includes, splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and fun. It is a pool zumba. Challenging, water based workouts will be taught in this zumba class, keeping in mind disciplines of traditional aqua fitness.  It has Aqua zumba license but for that a student must also be associated with ZIM (Zumba Instructor Network).

7) ZUMBATOMIC: Now there is a kid’s time to learn zumba. Why not fitness with fun should be for kids when adults can do it? This is a specialty course, which will teach you a unique methodology with the psychology and psychology, which will be relevant for the kids. And how to use this in zumba class for the age group of 4-12 years kid. There will be Zumba atomic license for this. Also you should be associated with ZIM (Zumba Instructor Network).

Salary and other benefits

Zumba instructors, with there passion of zumba can earn accordingly. This depends on how much time they are devoting to teach a class, and how many students they have. Energy level of everyone varies, so do the earnings. Zumba instructors may teach both part times, full time. Teaching fitness is not high salary job in comparison to technical fields.  If a Zumba instructor is able to get good number of students, he can hire other instructors also.

  • Normally a zumba instructor if a fresher gets a salary range between $15 to $25 per hour. It varies person to person, that how much time he can devote for it.
  • Private employers offer Zumba instructors a higher range of $100 to $150 per hour. If he is really an experienced instructor.
  • According to US websites, salary range of a Zumba instructor is somewhere between $25,000 to $50,000 annually.
  • Growth is expected in this career, in comparison to other aerobics instructors, fitness trainer, and other similar professions earn an average salary of $35,300, according to (www.bls.gov) till 2009.

Skills and training required to become a zumba trainer

Zumba is for fun loving people, for those who love zumba, and wants to spend there maximum time in zumba class, and then they are the one who should become a zumba instructor.
To become a zumba instructor, a person should be very much responsible, and should be able to interact with people of all age groups, in a motivating and positive manner. If you are deciding to be a instructor, it is obvious that you have already done zumba in routine basis,  But to be eligible to teach zumba , you have to attend one day training session , which is one or two day workshop  for training the trainers of zumba .
This workshop is offered by zumba.com and by dozens of other fitness center, in large cities this basic zumba instructor course is offered in many gyms and fitness centers. By taking this course, which will be taught by a licensed instructor, you will be able to know many guidelines and tips which are very important for an instructor.

It is necessary to check local gyms for zumba certification classes. Zumba website also offer information regarding teachers training on the basis of locations. This basic training course is a paid course and zumba license will be given only if have done this course. Zumba License allows you to use zumba word and zumba logo in your class name. What exactly is Zumba

Zumba is a Latin word, which means to move fast and have fun. It is a fitness program which involves moves from martial arts, belly dance, hip-hop, mambo, and salsa, in addition of all this there is some, moves from meringue, Bollywood and street dance.
